About Us
Founded in 1980 as United Yokefellow Ministry, UYM Charities has a long history of service grounded in relationship, spiritual care, and respect for people of all faiths and traditions. The word yokefellow reflects that history — a companion in shared work, joined with others in carrying a common responsibility.
Today, UYM is experiencing a renewed chapter, building on that legacy through Spaciology, EcoDialogues, and a growing ministry focused on connection with ourselves, one another, and the living world we share.
With a growing physical presence in northern New England and a vision for national reach, our work is guided by a simple conviction — making space feel like home for all life forms is an ethical imperative.

A Legacy of Care
For Dr. Robert Costanzo, Board President of UYM Charities, the roots of his life’s mission stretch all the way back to early childhood. At just three years old, his mother was hospitalized for two years with tuberculosis. During that formative time, Robert stepped into a caregiving role far beyond his years—a role that would ultimately shape the trajectory of his entire life.
“That’s what led to my passion for helping people,” he reflects. “I’ve always been sensitive and caring. I grew up in a wonderful family, surrounded by loving sisters, and that gave me a natural foundation for compassion and service.”

A Legacy of Care
Based at the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and South Florida, Phil leads the organization’s national outreach efforts, connecting with donors across the country and guiding them through the boat donation process. His work is grounded in relationship-building, practical expertise, and a genuine commitment to helping others.
What sets Phil apart is his dedication to the donor experience — working one-on-one with each individual to identify the best way to donate their boat, maximize their tax benefits, and make the entire process as simple and stress-free as possible. For Phil, it’s not just about vessels — it’s about turning generosity into lasting impact.
