EcoDialogues

Space as Metaphor. Dialogue as Method.

EcoDialogues creates space to slow down, listen differently, and explore questions that do not always have easy answers.

Rooted in Spaciology, these facilitated conversations are not about debate, persuasion, or reaching a predetermined solution. They invite us to pay attention to what is happening within us, between us, and within the larger systems and communities we share.

A Different Kind of Conversation

An EcoDialogue begins with a question worth exploring.

It might involve change, belonging, leadership, uncertainty, conflict, community, home, or something else that matters to you or your group. Rather than beginning with the assumption that someone already knows the answer, we begin with curiosity.

The goal is not agreement. It is to make enough space to listen, notice what is shaping the conversation, and discover what may become possible when we think together.

How EcoDialogues Work

EcoDialogues can be held one-on-one or with groups. Conversations are facilitated virtually through Zoom, with in-person EcoDialogues also available locally in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts.

No previous knowledge of Spaciology is needed. Each conversation is shaped by the people participating and the question or issue they want to explore.

EcoDialogues draw on three interconnected dimensions of Spaciology — Internal Space, what we bring within us; Shared Space, what happens between us; and Ecological Space, the larger conditions surrounding us.

Dialogue as Inquiry

EcoDialogues grow from the research of UYM Charities Executive Director Reverend Dr. Robert Levey, whose doctoral work developed Space as Metaphor as an alternative way of understanding transformation.

That research raised an important question — what role can dialogue and listening play in creating and sharing different kinds of space?

EcoDialogues brings that question into practice.

Offered as Part of Our Ministry

EcoDialogues are offered without a required fee as part of the ministry of UYM Charities. Donations are welcomed and help UYM continue making these conversations available while supporting the ongoing development of Spaciology.
